Beskrivelse

Industrial organization is a field of economics that studies the strategic behaviour of firms, the structure of markets and their interactions. The study of industrial organization adds to the perfectly competitive model real-world frictions such as limited information, transaction cost, of adjusting prices, government actions, and barriers to entry by new firms into a market. It then considers how firms are organized and how they compete. Organizational behaviour is a relatively new, interdisciplinary field of study. Although it draws most heavily from the psychological and sociological sciences, it also looks to other scientific fields of study for insights. One of the main reasons for this interdisciplinary approach is because the field of organizational behaviour involves multiple levels of analysis, which are necessary to understand behaviour within organizations because people do not act in isolation. That is, workers influence their environment and are also influenced by their environment. Industrial psychology is a relatively new branch of psychology that was created for corporations and organizations that needed more structure. Industrial psychology is able to provide this structure by evaluating employee behaviour for the good of the company. It is often referred to as organizational psychology because of its emphasis on analysing individuals who work for various organizations. The book is designed to help the students and professionals to quickly acquire the knowledge and skills they need for this subject.
