La vuelta al mundo en la Numancia is the eigth novel of the fourth series of Episodios Nacionales by Benito P rez Gald s. Diego, the narrator, is a veteran of naval battles whose daughter runs off with a poet. In his search for her, Gald s recounts the historical elements of political instability and the alliance between Chile and Peru, as well as horrible battles. In doing so, the author appeals to a sense of universal brotherhood. In the end, Diego is reunited with his daughter.
