Envisioning Peace is a collection of individual narratives and commentaries meant for everyone, and especially educators. In the fast-paced profession of education we need to take the time to acknowledge our own story and get to know our students' stories. When that happens trust is built, connections occur, and the power of compassion and care in education come to the forefront. These stories address some of life's major challenges and show how these individuals have transformed their lives through the power of compassion and care, illuminating both our profound diversity and our connectedness. Life narratives like these convince me that caring for others and envisioning a peaceful means to live can unite all of us-if we're willing to listen and understand.
