Beskrivelse
Engineering, both in education and in practice, has increasingly become a global enterprise. And although English is and remains the lingua franca of the engineering and scientific world, engineering is still taught and practiced in the local languages of world. But there really is no reliable source for translating the often arcane and specialized use of words--and concepts-- in engineering from one language to another. This book will launch a series of dictionaries to address that problem. This volume will offer a Greek-English bilingual dictionary. The objective of each of these books is to provide a Technical Term Reference manual for non-English speaking students and engineers, who, for this book, are familiar with Greek, but uncomfortable with English. And it will provide a similar reference for English speaking students and engineers working in an area of the world where the Greek language predominates. The topic areas will include all areas and sub-disciplines within the Environmental Engineering sub-discipline of Civil Engineering. There are terms from structural engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics, environmental economics, environmental chemistry, physics, and meteorology, among others. Students and professionals alike will find these books to be immensely useful and unlike any other dictionary or online translator currently available.
