Environmental education or indoctrination? For the author, it is indoctrination. It will be environmental education when students learn to argue and counter-argument based on science procedures. The author presents a rhetorical analysis of the Latin American consensus on environmental education whose criteria are the argumentative techniques employed by the authors. Thus, the exposition of analytical criteria allows readers to evaluate the relevance of criticism and learn how to do it. At the end, the author presents a summary proposal for environmental education.
