ENGLISH DESCRIPTION In 1685, Sir Henry Morgan --whom anyone who was not a subject of the Royal English Crown would have considered a vile pirate-- sued two renowned London booksellers and claimed from each the sum of ten thousand sterling pounds for damages to his honor. The alluring life of privateer Henry Morgan (1635-1688) is narrated through the ensuing defamation trial: from his humble origins in Llanrumney, Wales, to his rise to Sir of the Kingdom of England as recognition for his battles against the Spanish Crown, staged mainly in the Caribbean Sea --Yucat?n, Honduras, Nicaragua, Maracaibo, Portobelo-- and, especially, for the capturing and looting of Panama in the Pacific.
