12-year-old Emily Song has always known that she was meant to sing. However, her father banned music from their lives for as long as she could remember. But that doesn't stop Emily from joining the school glee club behind her father's back.

During a secret online voice lesson, Emily's voice levitates the objects in her room. She discovers she's a music mage--like her mother and grandmother before her. The cool part is she can cast magic spells through song. The bad part is this makes her an instant target for demons, monsters, and interdimensional beings such as the Queen of the Night who want to consume her power to take over New York City.

When the Queen of the Night kidnaps Emily's father and best friend in exchange for Emily's voice, Emily must use her still-developing abilities to save her loved ones and city from destruction.
