Rivan Polaryn is an imperial tank commander on the rise.
An orphan given little chance to survive became a decorated tank crew leader. He received the imperial saber for his efforts on the worn torn planet Narpal.
But Rivan and his artificial intelligence companion return to an empire facing a new threat. Support for a mysterious faction known as the fourth legion has spread throughout the galaxy at an alarming rate. There are reports of instability at mining colonies and violent incursions. Regional governors have been attacked as the empire scrambles to regain control.
