Beskrivelse
Modeled on the famous "Spoon River Anthology" this collection of elegiac epitaphs taken from tombstones in a cemetery near Gettysburg, PA is a imagined town history of "war heros, honest lawyers, faithful fathers, virtuous widows, chaste daughters and prodigal sons." Poems which read like a Dickens novel or oral history being passed around a pot-bellied stove in a rural Pennsylvania country store. A humorous truthtelling of falsehoods chiseled on family tombstones.
