This is a collection of elegies, or songs of loss. Elegies are occasioned by the deaths of particular loved ones, but also encompass general themes, such as the purpose of life and the purpose of artistic dedication. The book includes works by John Milton, Matthew Arnold, Shelley, Tennyson and Keats.
