Epaphus, the son of Jupiter, questioned the origin of Phaeton, who claims to be the son of Clymene and Apollo. Enraged, Phaeton calls on his mother to verify his story, and also asks Apollo to confirm that he is indeed his son. His father welcomes him with affection, confirming his origin, and promises to grant him any wish.
