Cassius loves being Caretaker, a job that directly influences and guides the productivity of the town of Windhaven. It's a job he takes seriously, which is why when a cook at one of the local food stalls whispers to him that something strange is going on up at the mines, he doesn't hesitate on checking it out. But after an accident in the mines leaves him trapped deep within the mountain, he's forced to find a way out before it's too late. Soon after, he stumbles upon a hidden cave of crystal and a heated argument between two strangers. After watching a powerful sorcerer named Lucian drain one of the planet's last reservoirs of energy, Cassius is suddenly thrust into a much larger story and set on an adventure that leaves him changed forever. Lenora's plan for the day was to run her errands and then sleep like there was no tomorrow. After spotting a strange man in an alleyway and reporting it to a nearby guard, Windhaven is suddenly attacked by strange men from a far off land. It's not long after that she finds herself captured by the same strange man she had seen earlier, but just when she thinks it's all over, something inside her awakens. The next thing she knows she's using abilities she never knew she had and doing things that she never thought possible, like smacking a bolt of lightning into the face of one of the barbarians. She helps a few people escape out into the desert and before long she finds herself on her own journey, one of self discovery. She soon discovers that her actions might just affect more than just her own fate, but the entire planet's.The Azonian Empire is gone and Azon, the home world of the Azonian race, is the last bastion for their people.
