In this turbulent context, Antonio Nari?o emerges as a revolutionary figure, whose translation and publication of the "Rights of Man and of the Citizen" in 1793 would ignite the spark of revolution.

Nari?o, known as "The Precursor" of Colombian independence, was an intellectual, politician, and military leader whose life spanned the crucial period of transition between colony and republic. His struggle for freedom and human rights, which took him from exile to the presidency and back to exile, embodies the contradictions and ideals of an era of profound changes.

This novel is based on historical facts, yet takes creative liberties to explore the intimate motivations, internal conflicts, and personal relationships of its protagonists.
