Brigid is grieving the loss of her husband and best friend. Feeling lost, she takes a trip alone to her familys ancestral castle in Scotland. At Dalhousie she travels through time during her dreams and meets a sixteenth century ancestor named Anastasia Ramsey. Ana is also grieving. Together these woman comfort each other and discover that together they may be able to help Scotlands queen, Mary Stuart.
