The September 2013 Mature Living Magazine stated, research shows that at least 70 percent of people older than 65 will need long-term care services at some point in their lifetime. According to the survey, the average annual rate for a private room at a nursing home is $84,000, while the average assisted living facility exceeds $41,000. Both are up more than four percent in the past five years, and experts expect this sharp increase to continue. All working people must prepare for the eventuality that they may suffer a disabling accident or illness that will require long-term care. Most of us cannot handle the costs and will face the loss of our assets unless we include this possibility in our estate planning. My mother did not make any plans. Instead she depended on me to take care of everything. This book details my struggles to insure that she was well cared for in her last days. Most of the vague ideas we have about how we will face these problems are not based on facts. I have included pages for you to enter your personal information so this it is organized and readily available. This book will help you plan for a possible disabling illness and protect your assets.
