Beskrivelse
This is a first biography of Alexander Garden, a famous physician of colonial times who was also an influential participant in the city of Charles Town's pre-Revolutionary intellectual and cultural life. His botanical interest and pursuits very much influenced the planting of Charleston's now famous gardens. The book will be valuable to the intellectual, cultural, and science historian in general and to botanists in particular.
