The seventeen papers in this volume, presented at a national seminar, held at St. Joseph's College, Jakhama, Nagaland, attempt to explore the ways and means which directly or indirectly help in remodelling village economy in North-East India. Including the social and cultural variables' besides conventional development models, the contributors deliberate on social norms, institutions and participations; education and human resource development; infrastructure and bio-resource conservation; micro-finance and rural development; and food and agriculture.
