Beskrivelse
Carol Campbell-Fullard was born in London, England to Jamaican parents who immigrated to America for a better life and settled in the South Bronx of New York City. Carol's parents wanted to ensure that she had a good education and refused to send her to the local public schools. They
were concerned with behavior issues at the school and neighborhood rivalries.
Therefore, they worked numerous jobs to send her to a Christian school. Years later, she would eventually begin her public school education-as a teacher. This moment would bring Carol full circle as her career began in the very place her parents fought hard to avoid-the South Bronx.
This is a love story about education wrought with joy and pain, like any relationship. It is an authentic look at learning that begins beyond the school halls, but ultimately ends up as a teachable lesson that permeates the school walls. It is a passionate tale of an educator who oftentimes silently mirrored the pain of her students, parents, and teachers. It uncovers the personal plight and
professional journey that needed to transpire for her to achieve social-emotional wellness.
Disruptor Die, An Educator's Journey is a storyteller's tribute to those adults and children who converge in schools every day throughout our nation shouldering burdens, embracing hope, and manifesting their dreams.
