Beskrivelse
Discurso en defensa del talento de las mujeres is a brilliant essay in favor of women's emancipation written in 19th century Spain. The cornerstone on which Josefa Amar builds her speech is the intellectual equality between men and women, citing a need for access to education, "instruction," or, "enlightenment" to end the "absolute ignorance" to which women suffer in patriarchal societies. She goes on to compare the relationship between men and women to that of the master and the slave.
