Beskrivelse
All children are unique and deserve to be recognized and treasured for their special personalities, talents, and perspectives. While most parents give their children plenty of attention and love, there are specific ways that they can help kids focus, learn, and grow.
Discovering the Unique Child identifies some of these practices and gives parents a solid foundation for directing their children's learning.
Eric Kwaku Donkor takes readers through the different types of intelligence a child may manifest and the different types of play a child may engage in. For example, a child with bodily-kinesthetic intelligence learns through physical interaction and activities. Children with musical intelligence enjoy identifying rhythms and patterns in sound. Kids with spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, or naturalistic intelligence all respond to different types of play as well.
Donkor then moves from basic child development to focus on children with disabilities and disorders. He shows parents where to get help if they suspect their child may have a developmental difficulty and reassures families that they will not be alone in the journey ahead.
Discovering the Unique Child is full of hope, positivity, and celebration of all children and their unique and wonderful lives.
