Beskrivelse

Education as of late has had many changes and disruptions. Some of these are new to the field, but most have been hidden underneath a veil of comfort and complacency. At times when teachers or other stakeholders in the field have attempted to speak up, it was quickly silenced and met with professional assassination. The fact of the matter is that U.S. education is not where it should be, and the system is in need of some major changes quickly.

This book is not an attempt to bring about more educational insight from the perspective of curriculum and policies, nor is it an attempt to be the end all be all solution to all problems in U.S. education. This book is a real life discussion from a seasoned teacher about what is going on in classrooms across the nation, and why it is very important that truth be told and received! While there are many reasons to be upset with what is going on in the educational system, change does not come through repetition. Change cannot be manifested if old ways and methods are sustained. Change will not come if the only proactive action taken is to restrict the professionals within the system, and refrain from reflecting on how everyone has a part to play in the state of education currently.

There must be discomfort, tough conversations, true differentiation, student voice, community insight, and more if we as a nation really want what we say we do!

Different is not bad, and different does not mean deficient!
