Beskrivelse
Modern societies are characterized by a deeply entrenched moral pluralism. This makes it increasingly difficult to determine legal norms that are acceptable for all citizens. The book explores how far a universal acceptance can be reached through moral and strategic compromises. However, the limited reach of these strategies will require a modern legitimate law to offer legal possibilities for the regionalization of laws and for the secession of normatively frustrated members of a society.
