Beskrivelse
He charged forward at those in front of him, shoving them out of his way. Harun tried to grab him by his left arm, but David wrenched it free of his grasp. "You can just die, Jew!" Harun shouted through the bullhorn. The crowd seemed to become a living beast at his shout. The order, if that's what you can call it, had collapsed.
The Israeli-Hamas war started on October 7th, 2023, and the protests in the United States started shortly after that. Harun was a PhD candidate at Columbia University and of Palestinian ancestry. David was a surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital and of Jewish ancestry. One of these men would help the other despite very troubling encounters. Both of these men would take a journey into deeper self-understanding. Ultimately, one man's life would be radically changed because of their involvement in the protests.
This book seeks to explore the importance of how we treat each other. Along the way, it delves into some of the political, historical, and human complexities of the land that was once referred to as Palestine.
