This study reveals how the myth of Diana and Actaeon, as passed down to posterity by Ovid, resonates in the literature and visual arts of the sixteenth century. Ovidian poetics inspire the rhetoric of the furor of love as well as philosophical and aesthetic observations centered around the figure of Actaeon.
