Beskrivelse
Gandhi was humanistic, but he would not tolerate laziness, idleness, greed and hypocracy in the name of humanity. Morality is furthermore a condition for self-realization. God or Truth can be realized only through love, says Gandhi. The whole Gandhian philosophy has been deduced from the principle of spiritual unity. Gandhism is a body of ideas and principles that describes the inspiration, vision and the life work of Mahatma Gandhi. It is particularly associated with his contributions to the idea of nonviolent resistance, sometimes also called civil resistance. Gandhi developed a way of life by his constant 'experimenting with truth' - a phrase that formed the subtitle to his autobiography. This book seeks to give a coherent account of Gandhi's basic ideas, demonstrating the importance of Hindu thought and the centrality of his concept of Truth. Contents: .
