This book examines the determinants of the various factors that help to generate marketed surplus. Though studies relating to such issues have received adequate amount of attention mostly for agriculturally developed states of India, very few studies have been conducted for less developed regions whose economy are totally dependent on agriculture. In that respect the book has made an indepth study not only to identify but also to trace the relative weightage of the various factors that determine such surplus. The book has also made a detailed study of the factors according to the size of land holdings, since factors which are crucial for owners of large sized holdings may not be the same for small and marginal ones.
