Beskrivelse
Eshu and his female counterpart, Pombagira, are the best known and most controversial Spiritual Entities of all manifested in the religious African-Brazilian practice. This is because, in all of them, the other spirits are always kept at a distance that deifies and sanctifies while Eshu is seen as close and intimate of human being, even treated by his faithful affectionately as Compadre - my brother in a free translation. The archetype represented by Eshu also contributes to the creation of this almost emotional bond between man and spirit. Outcasts of all kinds, marginal in the literal sense of the word - those who live on the margins - the Eshu figure represents the very human nature with all its vices and virtues, free from moral restraints imposed by Western society. Eshu is, therefore, a father, a brother, a friend, and, why not, a reflection of the one who worships, also performing as catharsis element. It is from this warm relationship with the supernatural that Diego Oxossi released his first book "UNVEILING EXU - THE GUARDIAN OF ROADS" (Desvendando Exu: O Guardiao dos Caminhos portuguese edition only]). The work, which originated in the lecture of the same name held by the author in esoteric events in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre, searches for the african-mythological origin of the Orisha and the Spiritual Entity Eshu and builds a historical and religious rescue since the emergence of religions of African origin across Brazil to the present day.
