Desert Soul - One Soldiers's View of the Storm is a biographical description of events that happened during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm (aka the Gulf War) as seen through the eyes of a US Army Specialist as he served with the 101st Airborne's Eagle Dustoff Medevac Unit "I put my face and palms against the thick windows facing the north, I watched to my right, just over the top of the parking garage that the 101st Airborne Aviation Brigade called home. I then watched to my left just above the unfinished passenger gates as fire trail after fire trail jumped into the morning darkness, one after the other, from the right and then the left. Orange, Red, Yellow, Blue, and White fire trails emerged from the runways located on either side of our command post home here at King Fahd International Airport. Each trail is another warrior reaching out to do his duty for his country and for what he believes in, each trail heading north to their final objectives, each one heading for Baghdad."
