The focus is on four Latin American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Mexico. The paper shows the legal bases of the activities of the World Bank Group and illustrates the instruments of the organization to take influence on national policies. It examines if the work of the World Bank Group does actually aim at reducing poverty and promoting equality and asks how meaningful and important the activities are for Latin American countries.
