In most diets these days, you'd find dieticians and even health personnel advising people to either reduce their sugar intake totally or reduce it. But what some people understand by this dietary advice is that they should stay away from anything delicious and tasty. That is by far one of the most culinary myths that I have had to debunk over and over again. My cousin, Laila being diabetic of course had to stay away from sugary components in her meals. What she deduced from what her doctor said was that she shouldn't start eating like "someone who was sad" (in her words lol). It took my interference to get her to understand that she could actually eat happily without eating sugary things! She asked how she would go about it and I drafted a mini recipe book for her to try out for a couple of days. She called a few days into her diet to tell me that I was the best cousin ever!! (Of course, I am. Lol). But she was really satisfied with the meals that I gave her that she was glowing and looking healthier at her next doctor's appointment!
