Death Threat

Kara Machado, an LAPD undercover operative, is in danger. Her identity may soon exposed to the Mexican cartel leader she's sleeping with because another operative, hoping for a big payoff, has informed his cartel contact that they've been infiltrated by a female officer. Kara's boyfriend whisks her abruptly to their compound in Puerto Penasco while they investigate whether it might be her. They have a huge meth shipment scheduled for LA and can't risk any tipoffs.

Kara happens to be newly promoted homicide detective Buddy Steel's first love from their days at the police academy. Buddy convinces his staunch supporter, Commander Logan, to let him come up with a plan to extricate Kara without interfering with the sting to bust the drug shipment. Infamous for his maverick behavior, Buddy's daring and illegal op to liberate Kara is bound to leave casualties on both sides.
