Dear Abayo is a collection of poems, letters, memories, and lessons. This book is a sincere and intimate recollection of the growing pains of Somali and Muslim womanhood.



abaayo - means 'sister' in the Somali language. The meaning also connotes-affection, admiration and closeness. It is a term of endearment often used in friendships, and for other women regardless of relation.
