Beskrivelse

Forced to abandon her dreams of becoming a FBI Profiler, Psychologist Emily Taylor enjoys a successful, if somewhat mundane life, babysitting the Manhattan elite, one hour at a time. All that changes when her brother, Edgar, the sheriff of a small town in New Jersey, asks her to put her profiling training to use and help him solve a series of sensational murders. The bodies of several women have been found badly beaten with their blood drained. A stranger approaches Emily under the cover of night claiming knowledge of the crimes. Who is this man and how is he tied to the murders? Emily reluctantly agrees to begin meeting with him and his "secret" family, hoping to find the truth. In the midst of media speculation of vampires, mad morticians and another Jack the Ripper, more bodies are discovered causing the FBI to send the country's best profiler, Special Agent Matt Greene, to take over the case pushing both Edgar and Emily out of the way. Trusting no one, he demands to see all of Emily's patient records. As she engages in a battle of wits and wills with the agent, attempting to protect her patients' rights, the killer suddenly turns his attention to Emily, targeting her as his next victim.
