Beskrivelse
Donna Helms set out to document the colorful history of her favorite aunt, her mother's sister DD, by audio recording beginning in 2016. It was envisioned as a personal project with the intent to publish for immediate family but the material is so engaging it gives the rest of us a glimpse of what life was really like back to a time that will either be erased or distorted in history books. DD grew up and lived a life in which a person knew all their neighbors, left their doors unlocked, and even had groceries delivered to the door during the Depression? And DD herself reclaims it in her own words, with humor, wit, and absolute joy. It is a life that every reader will find delightful and captivating.
