DAY DREAMS & NIGHT DREAMS (2016)

I remember the first time I saw pictures of Greek sculptures, many were without heads, no arms, or broken legs, but they looked so marvelous and so beautiful to me. And then came Michelangelo's Pieta, David, Night & Dawn, the Slaves and much more, and also the Sistine Chapel Ceiling painting; these images were so overwhelming, so impressive that they have inspired me and challenged me to create my own work. Of course, there were great works of many other masters as well. All these masterpieces have since enriched my life and they often come to my dreams, day and night.

This year, I have invited about 30 of these great figures of sculptures & paintings and 2 landscapes to be my models posing for my paintings. And now these figures have become part of my work, part of me. They are my DAY DREAMS & NIGHT DREAMS

Once Upon a Time (2015)

It was just like you wanted to plant some flowers at the front yard, you cleared the weeds, put soils and seeds and watered them every day. And suddenly one morning you woke up, opened the door, a colorful world appeared in front of your eyes, the deserted garden had turned itself into a paradise full of fresh sweet flowers.

What a MAGIC!

So, here is my garden, my Wonderland 2015, and I name it: ONCE UPON A TIME.
