Gunslingers, ghosts, and old west magic... ...Which will kill her first?
Gunslinger and pathfinder witch Josie is in the race of her life. And at the end of that race is the prize of a lucrative government contract to carry the nation's mail. If she wins, she's set for life. If she fails, she'll lose everything...Maybe even her life.
The stakes couldn't be higher.
Until they are.
Getting saddled with two partners isn't helping her odds. For a witch who's always been alone, having to work with a team just means more ways things can go wrong, more people she'll have to worry about doing their job and keeping alive.
Plus, there's the competition. Turns out, she's not the only magical who wants this win.
The rival team is led by another witch who wants to win at all costs.
But at least there are rules. It's a simple path to victory: two teams of three riders each, using their magic and their horses to travel and carry pieces of a special message to the finish line. That means everyone must survive. Or it's all over. Without their teammates, the messages are useless.
But the whole endeavor might be useless anyway...
When a curse starts to chase the riders, along with ghosts and hired guns, it's not looking like Josie and her team will cross the finish line dead or alive...
