Beskrivelse
Going beyond the general commentary style usually associated with a study of the Bible, Dr. Hudson, by using sanctified imagination, embarks on a rather unusual approach that emulates what could be called autobiographical. The main danger in this approach is that it can open the door to anachronistic judgments. Most historical studies struggle with this challenge, especially when they attempt to extract practical lessons for contemporary readers. Dr. Hudson, by his parenthetical scriptural references provides a doorway to allow his readers to find the lessons for themselves. If Romans 15:4, and 2 Timothy 3:15, 16 are allowed their face value meaning, then both contemporary application and progressive revelational development can hardly be disavowed. Both the head and the heart are involved.
