Most of these poems bubbled up unbidden. Some were scribbled on an envelope to be performed at a poet's breakfast, some for slam competitions, or inspired by a performer. The mood varies from embarrassment, parental joy, silliness, sadness, cynicism, a sailor's awe, and gratitude. One was in response to a joke. See if you can tell which one.
