Daisy's Adventures joyfully provide happy, unique bonding experiences for children and their forever-families.
How Can I Use Daisy's Adventures Set #1 in the Classroom?
These stories address civic studies (US government), social studies, and US history during WWII by seeing the world through the eyes of Daisy, an orphan who gets adopted during WWII. Each story is written to encourage ethical behavior and are entertaining enough to read for pleasure outside of the classroom setting. Most of the books have a "Did You Know" section in the back to expand on the facts addressed during the story.
Teachers in the classroom have the flexibility to own one set of books per classroom or ask each student to own a set which they can keep at home. If the teacher has one set per classroom, read the Daisy story aloud during class and then reference the LESSON PLANS book to assign homework activities to the students. If the teacher requests each student own Daisy's Adventures Set #1 to keep at home, then the teacher can explain facts about WWII in class and assign homework for each student to read a Daisy story at home and return to class prepared to discuss the story. Likewise, the teacher can request that each student return to class prepared to use critical thinking to discuss a current event which correlates to the theme of that specific Daisy Story. Homeschooling parents can read the stories together with their children to bond while teaching their children. Book clubs and community event coordinators can own a set and open each meeting with a section of each story and discuss any lessons from the stories and how they may apply to our lives today.
