In Dad's Car, Betty Albright, a child of the 50's, does not realize the dramatic environmental history surrounding her. She is totally enraptured by the trips with her Dad and Mom in their new 1953 red Chevy convertible. When her dad, Dr. Albright, a scientist working on water pollution isssues, suddenly becomes seriously ill, she is devastated. What will she do if he dies? Up to this point her life has been a joy ride in Dad's car. Thoughts of trips to Florida, Washington, D.C., Niagara Falls, Carolina Beach, Chapel Hill, University of Pittsburgh, parks, lakes, and family, and friends fill her mind as she waits in the hospital for the outcome of her family's happiness. How will she go on and take care of her mom and baby brother? A surprise, heartwarming ending for all will bring tears of joy, and everyone looking forward to the next ride in Dad's car.
