Cuba 62 is Book Three of the continuing saga of The Leathernecks. For the first time, the series turns to "alternative history" when the United States invades Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Colonel Edward Heyward (Sonny) Rutledge, USMC, is the commanding officer of the Second Marine Regiment of the Second Marine Division, headquartered in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Colonel Rutledge is the "tip of the spear" as he takes command of the Second Marine Landing Team in October of 1962.
