Beskrivelse

She believed those on the other side were able to contact the living. The man she cared about deeply did not.

Kate has had many experiences in her life that caused her to know loved ones can reach out to us from the afterlife. Telling her things, mentioning events that no one else knew about. She had sought the counsel of religious people from her traditionalist faith, who told her she was not wrong to trust in such things.

But then there was Jack. Their relationship had grown roots and she really wanted him in her life longterm. He could not bring himself to cross over the divide and accept her belief that those who pass on can reach out to us.

So begins a struggle in Kate's heart. Can she have an intimate relationship with a man who has great difficulty accepting her beliefs? How can she shut down or deny that part of herself for the sake of a romantic connection? And even if she can, should she?

At one point, hearing a medium speak for his first wife, who is deceased, he openly suspects that Kate and her friend are trying to manipulate him-and Kate is crushed.

And so Kate finds herself on the painful front edge of great dilemma: Should she end the relationship with Jack, whom she cares for but who cannot accept a belief on which her reality is founded?

How can she resolve this deeply divisive issue?

This story picks up where the novel In The Light Of Winter left off, facing an important struggle-about two people divided by beliefs-and how one woman comes to a resolution.
