Cross

'The Cross' is a work of spiritual and doctrinal theology thoroughly based on the Bible, but from a Catholic perspective. The book presents the Cross of Jesus Christ as the key to understanding divine revelation, Catholic doctrine (including the difficult subjects of Free Will, Predestination, and the Atonement), and the spiritual life. Its premise is that human limitations offer no impediment to God's revelation of Himself but are the fertile means by which we come to know the grace of God. The Cross shows us not only the value of human suffering united to the sacrifice of Jesus, but also the interior working of the life of the Trinity expressed through His High Priesthood. Moreover, the Cross serves as a bridge by which the Holy Spirit conveys Creation from its origin to its ultimate destination in the New Heavens and the New Earth through the priestly action of Christ's mystical body, the Church, in the liturgy and sacraments, and in the communion of saints.
