Fox Fire thought her village was cursed when darklings tore through the gates and destroyed it in a single night. But then she was given the blessing of fire to fight back against the darkness that plagues her land. Blessings are gifts from God, and now Fox Fire has one. But if God's children are empowered by blessings, then God's enemies are empowered too. Their dark gifts are called curses, and they're ready to use them to destroy the entire Four Regions. The world is locked in spiritual warfare where demons are no longer unseen and the whispered prayers of Believers are now living weapons. Now Fox attends Cross Academy where she trains to strengthen her faith and master her blessing. But the other students are gifted too, and Fox quickly realizes that she may be outmatched. Fighting the darkness isn't as easy as she thought it would be, but God is still on her side.
