Beskrivelse
Fernando Alvarado Tezoz moc (Mexico-Tenochtitlan c1520-c1609) was the grandson on his mother's side and the great-nephew on his father's side of Huey Tlatoani Mexica, Moctezuma. It is believed that he studied at the Colegio de Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco, although no evidence emphaticly states it is true. Evidence usually suggests that he was a nahuatlato (expert interpreter of Nahuatl) in the Royal Audiencia of Mexico. His best known works are la presente Cr nica mexicana, written in Castilian around 1598, which relates the output Aztlan Aztec-Mexica and ends with the beginning of the conquest; and la Cr nica mexic yotl, written in Nahuatl in 1609, recounting the genealogies of the highest Mexican pipiltin (nobles), and exhibiting their merits and rights.
