Creative Hearts is a caring, insightful, and powerful collection of poems by two women who loved each other and their families.Creative Hearts is written by a mother and daughter reflecting their life experiences. At times spiritual, at times joyful, at times melancholy, Creative Hearts captures the spectrum of emotions in a fresh and passionate collection. Sectioned by Remembering, Gratitude, Nature, Trials, and Laughter, the collection covers the spectrum of human experience. It is an engaging dialogue and a joyful tribute to the bond between mother and daughter. This paragraph is from Pat Tyrer's introduction...When I decided to put together a collection of my own poetry, I felt that it would be appropriate to combine my work with my mother's. After all, it was she who inspired me to write. What is presented here is a combined collection of our work. I hope you will enjoy reading these works as much as I enjoyed reviewing, sorting, and collecting them. From the publisher: Creative Hearts may inspire other mothers and daughters to combine their creative works, leaving a legacy for generations. Imagine if you had in your possession the writings of a mother and daughter from a long past generation in your family, perhaps going back to the 1800s or even 1700s. Or if not writings, their quilts or paintings-whatever their creative pursuits might have been. Wouldn't you feel that you owned possessions to be prized? The divisions within the book unite their lives. Though each woman had different experiences, they were also similar-much as a painter has differing strokes for two portraits, yet when looking at the paintings later, side by side, they also have similarities in face and composition. Here are two poems from the book, daughter and mother...SONNET OF MYSELFI am a poem of fourteen lines of versewho needs to have a rhythm to my life.I prattle forth and sometimes may seem terse. To me my sense of order seems just fine.Precise and balanced well from stem to sternI sail along with confidence and glee.I know just where I'm going at each turnand grateful, balanced, happy to be me.I know a life of structure's not for some. What kind of world would that be after all, with every single person being onelike dancers all in rhythm at a ball. However, just for me the rules are fine.No matter if I do live out of time. PJT]MY QUIET TIMEOne hour a day I rest my mind from the daily cares around. And let my thoughts go back in time where happiness is found.Sometimes I wonder back in time where childhood was gay, To the old white house on the corner lot where I used to run and play.I see my friends of yesteryear with faces all aglowAnd listen as they call my name, on the old familiar road. These memories are so fresh and real for me to keep and shareWith anyone who passes by who has no one to care. JJB]From Pat's dedication...This collection is dedicated to faith and family as my mother would have wished. How you live is more important than what you believe
