After losing her first husband to cancer, a short rocky second marriage, she finally found the love of her life and soulmate at the age of 46. It was May 1997; shortly after the recent death of her mom, when she met Rick. When hearing he lived in the same condo complex as her mom, she knew it was destiny and they soon fell madly in love. This is an unedited, raw look into Jan's thoughts and emotions as she faced the days, and months alone learning to cope and manage life on her own again. They say there are seven stages of grief; Jan discovers there is no rhyme or reason when or how the stages manifest themselves. Countless days of profound pain, anger and guilt pour out of her until she finally begins to find her way out of the dark. Through this journey of healing, Jan realizes there is no wrong or right way to grieve, whether it's the loss of a spouse, friend or family member.
