Beskrivelse
Cramond is a murder mystery set in Roman Britain. It's the tenth novel to come from the pen of the Amazon-chart-topping author, Gary Mill. The date is A.D. 150, just over a century since Christ died on the Cross. The Romans have occupied Britannia for nearly two hundred years. Most of the island has been pacified but Caledonia in the north remains unconquered. The Roman fort at Cramond now functions as a supply outpost to serve the garrisons on the Antonine Wall. For eight years, this isolated redoubt has largely been untroubled by the Votadini (the local tribe). But now a series of random and brutal killings has brought fear into the hearts of the Roman legionaries stationed there. Despite numerous sacrifices to the gods, the mysterious slaughter continues. So an outsider has been summoned; a battle-hardened centurion, possessed of a keen intelligence, named Marcus Lunaris. His mission is simple: stop the carnage and find the murderer. However, as Marcus Lunaris quickly realises to his cost, this task will prove much harder than he ever imagined. In fact, the grizzled centurion will soon discover that nothing in his troubled, turbulent and blood-soaked past has prepared him for the tangled and deadly web of intrigue in which he is now ensnared. Before long, only one thing will be seared upon his tormented mind: survival, at any cost.
