Beskrivelse
Despite the increasing concern over Asian delinquency in Canada, there is a paucity of research in this area. This book reports a qualitative study on the experiences of Asian youth in the criminal justice system. Analyses support that negative self image is one of the key factors for offending. Contrary to general belief, leaving an Asian youth gang is less difficult than anticipated and these youth are committed to conventional norms of society regardless of their level of criminal involvement. These analyses inform policy makers and provide practical information for social workers, probation officers, police and other helping professionals in juvenile justice system.
