Beskrivelse
Conversations with Mr. Hooker is the first in a series of books that will consist of poems, lyrics and in later volumes some raps. The series will cover many subjects as most conversations between friends do. I owned a bar for many years so volume one will start off with some poems about bars, life in bars, insights of the lives of customers and those who work and own bars. After that we will talk about some lost love, love and women all from the point of view ...well of Mr. Hooker, who is a man. I hope you enjoy and that some of these works will provoke an emotional response from you the reader. Several of the bar poems are based on true stories or events but I did not hesitate to make up stuff as I pleased. This first volume was written while I was in the middle of a divorce so if there is touch of bitter at times I promise that stage has passed but the works still need to see the light of day. And God knows do we not all have our bitter days. You may notice that I use no punctuation in my works; it is just my style of writing. We spend so much time worrying about spelling and punctuation and proper this and that I do not feel creative when writing like that. I write these out and then for the most part they are gone for me, I cannot hold work done in my head as there is so many more in various stages of composition inside my brain. Volume two will be released in the near future and will have a section on Family and Friends, Nature, and God. The end will be a catch all of works that are fun and thought provoking but assorted subjects. In these times you cannot talk about nature or God without entering some kind of political discussion and you will find I am a Christian who does not trust the churches of today. As far as nature goes like many I am appalled at the destruction of our earth that is taking place after so much good was done to try and restore damaged areas. Living in the Columbia Gorge nature and the great works of God abound and are a constant inspiration. This volume will have the first of the works that could possibly be put to music. Volume three is also in the works but at this moment the format will be different more across the board as opposed to specific subjects. I am finding more and more of my works is being written as songs at least in my head. Be interesting to see how this sorts out.
